What is Therapy?
Therapy, also called psychotherapy or counseling, is the process of resolving problematic behaviors, toxic thoughts, negative feelings, relationship issues, and/or somatic responses (sensations in the body resulting from psychological issues). Therapy is provided by qualified mental health professionals like Psychologist / Counselor (MA Psych.), Clinical Psychologist (MPhil Clinical Psych.) and Psychiatrist (MD or DNB Psychiatry).
Is therapy for everyone?
Yes, therapy is for everyone. There is no fixed age to get therapy. Ms. Disha's youngest client was 10 years old while her senior most client was 65 years old. If you think you are in need of therapy, feel free to get in touch.
Do I need therapy?
Consulting a therapist is as normal as consulting a doctor. You can consult a therapist if you are:
Struggling to talk about a difficult phase of life due to fear of judgement
Feeling demotivated to work or carry on daily chores

Struggling to cope with anxiety

What is the duration of each session?
Each therapy session lasts for 60 minutes duration. Based on the need of the session, duration may be extended to 30 minutes at no extra fee.
How does the first therapy session look like?
The purpose of the first therapy session is to develop sufficient rapport for you to open up about your issues with the therapist. During this session, you can decide whether you feel comfortable enough to proceed with them in the therapy process. Similarly, it helps the therapist whether or not they will be the right fit to treat your issues. Incase, you as well as the therapist decide to continue, goals for the therapy will be set in this session.
Would I be prescribed medicines in therapy?
No, therapy sessions do not involve prescription of medicines. If during the course of therapy, Ms. Disha feels that you would benefit from psychiatric treatment then the same will be suggested.
What therapeutic approach is used?
Having being trained and certified in different forms of therapies, Ms. Disha uses an eclectic form of therapy to help her clients. She customizes the therapeutic techniques on the basis of what works for them.
How long do I need to take therapy sessions?
Everyone's recovery or healing journey is different. Some take less time while others take more time. Depending on the progress, number of sessions can be planned.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Yes, they are offered at a sliding scale rate too. Similarly, fees for webinars are negotiable.
